The awards were hosted on 13 December at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Lynnwood, Pretoria, and awards highlighted excellence among individuals, companies and many others involved in the aviation industry and are assessed by an independent panel of expert judges.

The awards were issued across various categories, including Aviation Safety, Aviation Security, Aviation Innovation, Aviation Transformation and an Airport Achievement Award.

FlySafair also won the Aircraft Operator of the Year Award, for the second year in a row, and took home the awards for Aviation Customer Services, Aviation Security, and Aviation Maintenance Organisation. FlySafair CEO Elmar Conradie was also honoured with the Aviation Professional Award.

In the category People Development, FlySafair was the runner up, with ATNS taking the top spot.
